Into the Woods

Shop for a Week: 10-19 October 2014

10-19 October 2014
Cromhouthuizen, Herengracht 366 -368, Amsterdam

The Wunderkammer takes you ‘Into the Woods’ with their 13th edition of Shop for a Week. Highlighting the beauty and fragility of the ecosystem from woods & natural curiosities that will surprise you.

Daily 10:00-17:00
Sunday 11:00 -17:00
Closed on Monday

From Friday the 10th of October, you will be able to experience a fairy tale forest on the Herengracht 366, even being able to take your favourite objects home.

As The Wunderkammer is known for a special collection of cut flowers and plants, the exhibition will also showcase seasonal naturalia. This time next to many pieces done by Ueli Signer and team, you can see new art by Berlin based Klaus Dupont and special objects made by Swiss painter Beatrice John.

Dutch artist Hilde Trip has created 6 wall pieces specially for this Shop for a Week. Hilde Trip’s work clearly creates a tension by showing the beauty and fragility of nature while at the same time highlighting its evanescence. The natural product is always the focus of the piece of art, and everything is handmade.

From England we bring ceramics in the form of chestnuts, pears and apples.

EXHIBITION
This edition, the Shop for a Week takes place at the monumental Cromhouthuizen. Subsequently, from the 23rd of October until the 11th of January 2015, The Wunderkammer will create an ‘cabinet of curiosities’ exhibition at the Cromhouthuizen under the same theme and name ‘Into the Woods’.
